Qiddiya Investment Company launches initiative to strengthen Saudi Arabia's engineering workforce

Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has launched PlayPath, a strategic mid-career recruitment and leadership development initiative aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s engineering workforce and accelerating the delivery of the ambitious Qiddiya City project.

The newly introduced program is designed to attract experienced Saudi engineers into manager-level positions across a range of critical engineering disciplines, reinforcing QIC’s commitment to developing national talent while supporting one of the Kingdom’s largest and most transformative giga-projects.

Unlike traditional graduate programs, PlayPath focuses on qualified Saudi professionals with established industry experience, providing them with a structured pathway to leadership. The initiative complements QIC’s existing early-career development programs by targeting engineers who have demonstrated technical expertise and leadership potential.

Successful candidates will assume roles with immediate responsibility and accountability while participating in a comprehensive development framework that combines practical project experience, cross-functional assignments, professional learning, leadership training, and one-on-one mentorship. Based on performance and career progression, participants will have opportunities to advance into senior management positions.

Muruj Abdulkarim, Senior Director of Organisational Development and Culture at Qiddiya Investment Company, said the initiative reflects the company's long-term investment in Saudi talent.

"PlayPath reflects our commitment to developing Saudi talent and building the capabilities needed to deliver the next chapter of Qiddiya City. By combining meaningful roles with structured development, mentorship, and exposure across our projects, we aim to create clear pathways for Saudi engineers to grow," Abdulkarim said.

Eligibility for the program is open to Saudi nationals holding recognized engineering degrees with relevant professional experience. Participants will receive continuous support from experienced managers and mentors, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, career guidance, and professional development throughout the program.
