Saudi Arabia officially opens Six Flags Theme Park at
Qiddiya City
Saudi Arabia marked a major milestone in its
leisure and tourism development with the official opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City on Monday
evening, under the patronage of Riyadh
Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar. The ceremony signaled the launch of the
first major attraction within Qiddiya City’s entertainment ecosystem.
In a statement posted on X, Qiddiya City
described the event as a moment that “redefines the Kingdom’s entertainment
sector,” highlighting the significance of Six Flags Qiddiya City as a
transformative addition to Saudi Arabia’s leisure landscape.

Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb also welcomed the opening, noting that Six Flags
Qiddiya represents the brand’s first global expansion outside North America. He
described the park as a world-class destination offering diverse experiences
and positioning Saudi Arabia at the forefront of global entertainment tourism.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Six Flags
Qiddiya City combines world-class rides with immersive, technology-driven
experiences, all designed to reflect local identity while delivering
international entertainment standards. The opening underscores the rapid growth
of the Kingdom’s entertainment sector in line with the goals of Saudi Vision
2030.
Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company, expressed
appreciation for the governor’s patronage and support, describing the opening
as a practical realization of Qiddiya’s vision. “We are building a destination
that inspires imagination, sparks excitement, and brings people together
through exceptional experiences,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by several senior
officials, including Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Sports
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Esports Federation Chairman Prince
Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Riyadh Mayor Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin
Ayyaf, along with other ministers and dignitaries.
Six Flags Qiddiya City opens to the public on
Dec. 31 as Qiddiya accelerates its efforts to become a regional hub for
entertainment, sports and culture. The park is part of Qiddiya Investment
Company’s flagship development located in the Tuwaiq Mountains, approximately
50 minutes from Riyadh, and is central to the company’s “Power of Play”
strategy.

The park features 28 rides, including several
record-breaking attractions such as Falcons Flight, promoted as the world’s
tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster; Iron Rattler, described as the
world’s tallest tilt coaster; and Spitfire, billed as the world’s tallest
inverted coaster. In addition, the park offers 18 family-friendly rides,
international dining options and retail outlets selling exclusive Six Flags
merchandise.
Ticket prices start at SR325 ($87) for adults
and SR275 for children, with free admission for children under four.
Six Flags Qiddiya City represents a key pillar
of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to diversify the economy and
attract up to 150 million visitors annually by 2030, positioning the Kingdom as
a global destination for entertainment and tourism.
