Jayasom to open Amaala Wellness Resort on Saudi Red Sea Coast in 2026
Wellness hospitality brand Jayasom has confirmed that its first resort in Saudi Arabia will open at the Amaala destination on the Red Sea coast later in 2026, marking a significant addition to the kingdom’s expanding luxury tourism and wellness sector.
The resort, located within Amaala’s Triple Bay development, was originally expected to welcome guests in 2024 but has since been rescheduled as part of the broader development timeline for the Red Sea destination.
Spanning more than 7,000 square metres, the property will be operated by Jayasom, the sister brand of Thailand-based wellness resort operator Chiva-Som. The resort is designed to offer a combination of evidence-based wellness programmes and holistic therapies, focusing on nutrition, fitness, mindfulness and restorative health treatments.

nears opening on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Coast
According to project details, the resort will cater to both adults and families, offering specialised retreats centred on women’s health, leadership performance, physical fitness, detoxification and multi-generational wellbeing. Guests will have access to wellness consultants, movement specialists and holistic practitioners, with programmes tailored to individual health and lifestyle goals.
The project was first announced in 2023 when developer Red Sea Global selected Jayasom as one of the wellness-focused hospitality brands joining the Amaala destination.
Expanding Hospitality Portfolio
The addition of Jayasom further strengthens Amaala’s growing portfolio of luxury hotels and wellness resorts as Saudi Arabia continues to develop high-end tourism offerings under its Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.
Once fully completed, Amaala is expected to include more than 3,000 hotel rooms across 30 hotels, in addition to branded residences, marinas, wellness centres and leisure attractions.
Several international hospitality and wellness brands are scheduled to establish a presence at the destination, including Clinique La Prairie, Equinox, Six Senses, Four Seasons, Rosewood and Nammos.
Focus on Sustainable Tourism
Amaala has gained international recognition for its focus on wellness tourism and environmental sustainability. The destination was recently highlighted by the Global Wellness Institute among the world's leading wellness-focused developments.
Red Sea Global has stated that the project will operate entirely on renewable energy and aims to deliver a 30 percent net conservation benefit to local ecosystems by 2040. Annual visitor numbers will be capped at 500,000 as part of efforts to preserve the natural environment and support regenerative tourism objectives.

The development forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to expand tourism as a key contributor to economic growth. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the kingdom’s travel and tourism sector contributed approximately $178 billion to the national economy in 2025, representing annual growth of 7.4 percent.
With the opening of Jayasom scheduled for 2026, Amaala is expected to strengthen its position as a leading wellness tourism destination on the Red Sea and a central component of Saudi Arabia’s long-term tourism ambitions.
