New championship golf course set to open in Qiddiya in 2026

A new championship golf course designed by Sir Nick Faldo’s firm, Faldo Design, is set to open in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia, in 2026.

Located approximately 45 kilometers from Riyadh, Qiddiya is one of the world’s most ambitious urban developments, blending entertainment, sports, and culture. The city will also feature a course by Nicklaus Design.

The Faldo-designed course has been constructed in a striking setting, with the towering 200-metre cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop on many holes. According to a statement from the project's media partner, 54, the layout emphasizes playability and innovative golfing experiences. Notable features include a three-hole loop for quick rounds and floodlights to enable evening play. The course has been seeded with Platinum TE paspalum grass, provided by Atlas Turf Arabia.
