A high-level Saudi delegation, led by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, visited the United Kingdom to explore collaboration in cutting-edge technologies, with a particular focus on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity, digital innovation, and deep tech partnerships. The visit aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to localize advanced technologies and build a world-class innovation ecosystem.

During the tour, the delegation met with leading British tech companies and research centers to identify joint initiatives across key sectors such as transportation, energy, industry, and education.

The visit began at Wayve, a pioneer in AI-powered autonomous vehicle technology, where the Saudi team was introduced to AV2.0, the company's latest smart mobility platform. The delegation then toured Automata Technologies, a robotics firm revolutionizing lab automation. There, they explored LINQ, a platform that leverages AI to accelerate diagnostics and biomedical research—highlighting potential partnerships in digital health and life sciences.

To support innovation and entrepreneurship, the Saudi delegation held strategic talks with Catapult, a UK organization focused on scaling high-impact tech businesses. Discussions centered on fostering startup ecosystems and integrating breakthrough technologies across national development priorities.

A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with executives from OneWeb, a global LEO satellite company. Talks focused on deploying high-speed connectivity solutions through advanced satellite infrastructure, with potential applications across transport, industrial operations, education, and the energy sector. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to expand its space and satellite capabilities.
