Women lead the way in Saudi Red Sea Global’s luxury destinations
When envisioning Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, the mind conjures images of
pristine waters, vibrant coral reefs, and world-class luxury resorts. However,
behind these picturesque destinations lies a team of remarkable women at Red Sea Global (RSG), who are
shaping not just the region’s tourism industry but also the narrative of
women’s leadership in Saudi Arabia.
As of December 2024, RSG has cemented its reputation as a world-class
developer, spearheading transformative projects such as The Red Sea and AMAALA. These destinations are
hallmarks of Saudi Vision 2030, embodying economic diversification,
regenerative tourism, and cultural preservation. At the heart of RSG’s success
are women who bring innovation, resilience, and a deep cultural understanding
to the forefront, redefining leadership in traditionally male-dominated

Here, we spotlight three exceptional leaders—Khloud Alkhalaqi, Areej Alhussan, and Layla Alamri—whose contributions are
driving the future of Saudi tourism and creating a new narrative for women in
the Kingdom.
Khloud Alkhalaqi
Senior Manager of Social Development
For Khloud Alkhalaqi, her role at RSG is a continuation of her lifelong
mission to create meaningful socioeconomic impact. With a career rooted in
sustainability and cultural preservation, she found RSG’s vision of
regenerative tourism perfectly aligned with her values.
“The opportunity to develop Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast as a world-class
luxury destination while promoting local heritage and empowering communities
inspired me to take on this role,” she shares.
Her initiatives, such as Cultural
Reflection, Green
Coast, and the Red Sea
Classic Sailing Race, bridge the gap between preserving
traditions and fostering sustainable growth. By revitalizing traditional skills
and creating investment opportunities, Khloud’s work reflects the balance of
cultural preservation and economic progress—a cornerstone of Vision 2030.

2030. Now a leading force behind adventure and sports activities at RSG, she
plays a pivotal role in creating unique experiences that set RSG destinations
apart.
Reflecting on a key milestone in her career, Areej recalls the
transformation of Shebara, a complex design project she initially doubted was
achievable.
“I vividly remember praying it wouldn’t be selected due to its intricate
design. But with steadfast leadership and determination, we turned the
impossible into reality!”
For Areej, the reactions of family and friends visiting these destinations
highlight the broader societal impact of her work.
“Their awe and speechlessness are priceless,” she says, underscoring the
pride these developments instill in local communities.
Overcoming barriers in a male-dominated industry, Areej advises women to
persist in pursuing their dreams:
