Neom Media launches sports journalism program to cultivate Saudi talent
NEOM Media, in collaboration with
Mahd Sports Academy, has introduced a four-week sports journalism program
designed to cultivate Saudi talent capable of covering the Kingdom's burgeoning
sports scene.
Michael Lynch, Sector Head of
Entertainment, Culture, and Media Industries at NEOM Media, expressed
excitement about the initiative, saying, “We are thrilled to have partnered
with Mahd Sports Academy to launch this advanced program. By combining our
expertise with Mahd’s world-class facilities, we have created a unique
opportunity for young Saudi talent to develop their skills and contribute to
the future of sports journalism in the Kingdom.”

The program recently concluded its
inaugural session, hosting 43 participants who received training from a
distinguished panel of local, regional, and international industry experts.
Among the trainers were Jeremy Inson, Hani al-Hijazi, Sawsan Saad, Mohammed
Moharram, Ayedh al-Habi, Fabrizio Romano, and Pedro Pinto.
Participants underwent an intensive
curriculum that included online theoretical studies, in-person training
sessions in Riyadh, and practical hands-on experience. They developed essential
skills such as news writing, editing, video production, and interviewing
techniques.

Mike Puig, Executive Vice President
of Sports at Mahd, highlighted the program's long-term vision: “We are

sports media in Saudi Arabia.”
