mobility and enhancing quality of life. The metro is set to open to the public
on December 1, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Phased Rollout and Operations
The metro’s phased launch will kick
off with the blue, yellow, and purple lines on December 1,
followed by the red and green lines on December 15, and
the orange line on January 5, 2025. Trains will operate daily
from 6 a.m. to midnight, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and enhance urban
living. This project is a key component of Vision 2030’s broader
infrastructure development goals.
Boosting Riyadh’s Global Appeal
Tourism Minister Ahmed
Al-Khateeb highlighted the metro’s role in positioning Riyadh as a leading
global destination, reflecting the government’s commitment to world-class
infrastructure. Residents are optimistic about the impact on daily life,
including professionals like Abeer Al-Shehri, a lawyer who believes the
metro will significantly improve productivity by easing travel between courts,
police stations, and the Public Prosecution.
"Traffic congestion often forces me to postpone critical meetings," Al-Shehri
said, expressing hope that the new metro system will offer a reliable
alternative.
