Work going on smoothly on NEOM port expansion
Belgian construction leader Besix,
in collaboration with its Middle East unit, Saudi-based Modern Building Leaders
(MBL), and Dutch dredging and heavy lifting specialist Boskalis, is advancing
well on the Port of NEOM expansion project.
This project is part of Saudi
Arabia's ambitious futuristic city, NEOM, located on the Red Sea coast.

The SAR3 billion ($799 million)
contract covers the design and construction of over 3 km of quay walls,
upgrading key port facilities, and installing advanced port equipment.
Currently, the team is focused on casting capping beams and performing anchor
and sheet piling work.
Once completed, the upgraded port in
NEOM's Oxagon industrial city will be capable of accommodating a variety of
vessels, including large container ships, feeder vessels, and bulk carriers.

Besix previously announced that its
subsidiary Six Construct, in partnership with MBL and Boskalis, had secured the
contract for the first phase of the Port of NEOM Improvement and Expansion
project.
