Chinese company completes adit tunnel project for Saudi NEOM

China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) has successfully completed an adit tunnel project for Saudi Arabia's futuristic city NEOM, according to Xinhua.

The project, which commenced in October 2021, involved the construction of six adits with a total length of 9.48 km in the desert region of Tabuk.

The completion of the adit tunnels last week marks the first project delivered by a Chinese enterprise within NEOM, as reported by Xinhua.

NEOM, located at the southern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba and spanning 26,500 square km, embodies Saudi Arabia's vision of creating a cutting-edge future city that offers "a new model for sustainable living, working, and prospering."

This initiative is a key component of Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at fostering a diversified economy. Numerous Chinese companies are currently involved in the construction of NEOM City.
