Former Australian MP
Former Australian MP Wyatt Roy has joined Neom's leadership
team, a groundbreaking $760 billion project initiated by Saudi Crown Prince
Mohammed bin Salman to develop a futuristic city in Saudi Arabia powered
entirely by renewable energy. Neom, fully owned by Saudi Arabia's sovereign
wealth fund, aims to reduce the country's reliance on oil and diversify its
economy.
Saudi Crown Prince envisions a megacity with robots handling
security, logistics, caregiving, and cutting-edge technologies like flying cars
and a giant artificial moon. The project includes "The Line," a
region designed without cars, streets, or carbon emissions, spanning 170
kilometers, with all amenities accessible within a five-minute walk.

Wyatt Roy, former assistant innovation minister under Australian
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and a key architect of the National Innovation
and Science Agenda, has joined Neom to contribute to turning this vision into
reality. Roy, the youngest person ever elected to federal parliament at 20 and
the youngest minister at 25, expressed the need for a radical rethinking to
address contemporary challenges, including climate change, water scarcity,
education, and urban development.
After leaving politics, Roy served as the managing director
for US-based AI company Afiniti, an executive director of the Tech Council of
Australia, and an advisor to local start-ups and McKinsey & Company.
