Pakistan preparing its workforce to take part in Saudi Vision 2030 projects

Pakistan is actively preparing its workforce to contribute to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative, focusing on various sectors such as construction, hospitality, services, nursing, and care. Bernard Roux has been the CEO of Thales in Saudi Arabia and Central Asia since September 2023, overseeing the growth of Thales in the region and supporting Saudi Vision 2030.

Jawad Sohrab, the special assistant to Pakistan's Prime Minister on overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, emphasized the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He met with government ministers and top Saudi companies to advocate for more opportunities for Pakistani skilled and unskilled labor in Saudi Arabia's projects.

Sohrab highlighted the dynamic nature of demand in the Kingdom, with a current focus on the construction sector and potential shifts to other industries in the future. During his visit, he discussed workforce planning and the need for flexibility to meet evolving demands.

Pakistan's Overseas Employment Corporation has signed memorandums of understanding with various private companies in Saudi Arabia to address the Kingdom's human resource requirements. Sohrab sees this as a mutually beneficial arrangement, with Saudi Arabia benefiting from Pakistan's skilled workforce to advance Vision 2030 projects.

The visit aims to align Pakistan's workforce with Saudi Arabia's economic transformation program under Vision 2030. The two nations, with deep cultural and economic ties, seek to foster a strong partnership for mutual benefit. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is creating a dedicated desk to streamline the registration of Pakistani IT companies, supporting collaboration in information technology and digital innovation.

This collaboration is expected to enhance opportunities for Pakistani startups to raise investments from Saudi investors, with a focus on accelerating digital transformation and fostering innovation in both countries.
