Saudi Arabia: First homeowners take ownership of Shura Island Residences at Red Sea Global

The residences represent a shift from traditional hospitality into design-led living

Saudi Arabia's Shura Island Residences welcome first homeowners

Shura Island Residences, a flagship development by Red Sea Global, has officially welcomed its first homeowners to SLS The Red Sea Residences, marking a major milestone in the evolution of the destination.

The arrival of residents brings the SLS brand’s lifestyle-driven approach to residential living on Shura Island, signaling the transition from vision to reality. According to Stephen Cheesebrough, Head of Development at Red Sea Global, these early homeowners are now part of a growing community that aims to pioneer a regenerative model benefiting both people and the environment.

Developed in partnership with Ennismore’s SLS brand, the residences represent a shift from traditional hospitality into design-led living. The project features exclusive beachfront villas ranging from one to four bedrooms, with most already sold. Designed by Foster + Partners and styled by Lissoni & Partners, each home blends contemporary luxury with nature-inspired elements, offering private infinity pools, expansive terraces, and seamless indoor-outdoor spaces.

Residents have access to a wide range of amenities set between the island’s beaches and lagoon. These include a central pool area, the Seabird Beach Bar, wellness and fitness facilities, sports courts, and one of the region’s largest children’s clubs. The overall concept emphasizes social connection, wellbeing, and a balanced lifestyle.

Homeowners also benefit from the broader offerings across Shura Island, including dining, retail, marina services, and the island’s golf course, Shura Links. In addition, a hospitality-led ownership model provides concierge, security, and property management services, along with access to the Accor Ownership Benefits Programme, which extends privileges across thousands of hotels worldwide.

The development reflects Red Sea Global’s commitment to sustainability and regenerative tourism. All homes are powered by 100% renewable energy, aligning with the company’s goal of achieving a 30% net conservation benefit by 2040 through the restoration of natural habitats such as mangroves, coral reefs, and seagrass.

With nine hotels already operating and strong demand for residences—leaving only a handful of villas available—Shura Island continues to grow. Easy access via Red Sea International Airport, with direct flights from major cities, further enhances its appeal.

As the island develops, SLS The Red Sea Residences is setting a new benchmark for luxury living—where architecture, nature, and lifestyle are carefully integrated.
