Saudi Vision 2030: Pakistan offers to provide 1 million workers annually to Saudi Arabia  

Jawad Sohrab Malik, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, recently met with Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), to explore the burgeoning workforce opportunities arising from Saudi Vision 2030.

During the meeting, the Special Assistant appealed to Saudi Arabia to accommodate a significant number of Pakistani workers to contribute to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030.

He stated, "Currently, around 5 million Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia each year. There is a genuine potential for this number to exceed 1 million." He highlighted how this diverse pool of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled Pakistani workers has been instrumental in meeting Saudi Arabia's varied labor requirements effectively.

Sohrab Malik emphasized Pakistan's ability to provide over 1 million individuals with diverse skills to fulfill the employment opportunities generated by Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Saudi economy and expand into new sectors.

He informed the Saudi officials about the Pakistani government's efforts to cultivate a skilled labor force ready to leverage the immense potential of the country's young population, particularly in the fields of digitization, services, and tourism.

The Saudi Ambassador expressed his support for the proposal put forward by Jawad Sohrab Malik to increase Pakistan's share of the workforce in Saudi Arabia.

Acknowledging the visionary leadership of the Kingdom, Jawad Sohrab Malik conveyed his gratitude to His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, for consistently offering unwavering support to Pakistan on a range of economic, strategic, and bilateral matters.

Both parties agreed to conduct further discussions regarding new employment prospects for Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia, with a forthcoming meeting scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia. This meeting will involve SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Jawad Sohrab Malik, along with the Saudi Labor Minister and other high-ranking officials from the Kingdom.
