Pakistani engineering firm Nespak wins energy project in NEOM
Renowned Pakistani engineering consultancy, National Engineering Services
Pakistan (Nespak), has secured a historic project in Saudi Arabia's NEOM region.
This was announced by Zargham Eshaq Khan, Acting Managing Director of
National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) in a press release.
The project is centered around the energy sector and was awarded by the
Saudi Electric Company (SEC). Nespak's responsibilities encompass the provision
of construction management services for projects involving Extra High Voltage
(EHV), High Voltage (HV), and HVDC across various zones, including NEOM Bay,
NEOM Mountain, and NEOM Phase II. This endeavor carries a budget of 46.5
million Saudi Riyals, equivalent to PKR 3.794 billion, and is slated for
completion within a three-year timeframe.
Nespak's official statement emphasized that NEOM is an integral part of
Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman's Vision 2030 reform program. This
visionary initiative aims to not only diversify the nation's oil-dependent
economy but also to reshape society by establishing a versatile economy capable
of meeting the challenges of the modern world. NEOM's ambitious plans encompass
a wide array of regions, featuring a floating industrial complex, a global
trade hub, luxurious tourist resorts, and a cutting-edge linear city powered by
sustainable and renewable energy sources.
The press release underscored that Nespak's successful acquisition of
this project stands as a testament to the technical excellence and unwavering
dedication of its professionals. Moreover, it marks a significant milestone for
an Asian company in a region traditionally dominated by European and Western
firms.
