Luxury lifestyle developer Faena to work on a series of high profile projects in Saudi Arabia
Luxury lifestyle developer Faena is making its debut in the Middle East,
announcing a series of high-profile hospitality and cultural projects across Saudi
Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, including a Red Sea island development and
a new destination in Diriyah.
The company said in a statement on Friday that
its regional expansion will be anchored by “Faena Island Red Sea”, the group’s
first-ever island project, alongside a development in Wadi Safar, situated
within Diriyah’s historic landscape.
The Red Sea initiative is envisioned as a hospitality-led destination blending wellness, cultural programming, and resort-style accommodations, set in what Faena describes as an “immersive sanctuary” environment.

In Diriyah,
the Wadi Safar development will feature 20 private golf course villas, a hotel
and spa, and cultural venues including a theatre and forum. Faena aims to
seamlessly integrate residential, hospitality, and cultural offerings,
supporting Diriyah’s vision as a heritage and tourism hub.
The expansion represents Faena’s entry into
the Gulf’s booming luxury lifestyle and hospitality market, where developers
are increasingly combining real estate, tourism, and cultural infrastructure.
Additional projects across the UAE are
reportedly in development, though the company has not revealed specific
locations, timelines, or investment figures.
Alan Faena, founder and chairman, emphasized
the company’s focus on location-specific development and cultural integration.
“We are deeply honoured to bring the Faena philosophy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Diriyah, as well as to introduce The Faena Island Red Sea, each rooted in a profound sense of place and visionary ambition,” he said.

He added that the projects aim to blend hospitality, art, and community
within integrated environments.
Founded by Alan Faena and Len Blavatnik, Faena
operates in the luxury lifestyle sector, developing mixed-use projects that
combine hotels, branded residences, and cultural venues. Its developments are
typically designed as integrated districts, combining accommodation, retail,
performance spaces, and public areas.
The company said its Middle East projects will follow a similar model, with a strong emphasis on site-specific design and cultural programming.
