Saudi Arabia's Neom Port to increase connectivity between Europe and GCC
The Port
of NEOM, in collaboration with Pan
Marine and supported by DFDS and regional logistics partners, has launched
a new multimodal corridor connecting Europe, Egypt, NEOM, and the GCC. This
corridor introduces a faster, more flexible route for European cargo entering
the region by combining trucking and ferry-based freight services, offering a
reliable alternative to traditional shipping pathways.
Pan Marine, which began operations at the Port
of NEOM in late 2025, has now activated European connectivity through its
partnership with DFDS. This integration enables truck-borne freight to move
seamlessly from Europe into the Gulf via the Port of NEOM. It expands beyond
traditional container-only shipments, allowing for the transport of critical
goods, including FMCG and other time-sensitive cargo.

Arabia’s Neom Port improves cargo transit time with new trade corridor
The route is already being utilized by
importers across several European countries, including Italy, the United
Kingdom, Germany, and Poland. It provides direct access to key regional markets
such as the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, the wider GCC, and Iraq, supporting businesses
seeking efficient and predictable market entry.
This new corridor builds on the success of a
pilot project linking the Port of Safaga in Egypt with the Port of NEOM and
northern Saudi Arabia. The pilot demonstrated notable reductions in transit
times compared to conventional routes, highlighting the advantages of
integrated maritime and inland logistics for time-sensitive shipments.
By connecting European transport networks with
Red Sea and overland trade corridors, the Port of NEOM and its partners are
strengthening regional cargo flows while offering a dependable alternative for
evolving logistics needs. Strategically positioned on the Red Sea and near
major inland routes, the Port of NEOM continues to grow as a key regional hub,
facilitating efficient cargo movement between Europe, Africa, Asia, and the
Middle East.
