The AlFursan Endurance AlUla 2026
programme was organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla in collaboration with
the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, and held under the official
supervision of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). This
framework ensured full compliance with international regulations and underscored
Saudi Arabia’s alignment with global equestrian standards.
Action began with the 120-kilometre
CEI2 race on the opening day, where Saudi rider Muhannad Al-Salmi captured the
title for the second consecutive year. The Mutadil 160-kilometre race served as
the championship’s ultimate test, demanding tactical riding, peak physical
conditioning and strong coordination between horse and rider across multiple
timed stages.
The course comprised several loops
highlighting AlUla’s distinctive rock formations and expansive valleys, central
to the governorate’s natural identity. Comprehensive veterinary inspections
were conducted after each stage at designated checkpoints, assessing horse
health, fitness and recovery in line with international endurance standards to
ensure animal welfare.
