Parsons will be responsible for technical oversight of initial phase of development
New
Murabba Development Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public
Investment Fund, has appointed US-based engineering firm Parsons as the Infrastructure Lead Design
Consultant for the first phase of its landmark urban development project in
Riyadh.
The agreement was signed at New
Murabba’s headquarters by Chief Executive

Parsons will be responsible for the design and technical oversight of core
infrastructure and transport systems for the initial stage of development.
“Our partnership with Parsons
ensures that the systems powering Riyadh’s future downtown are designed for
efficiency, sustainability and resilience,” Dyke said.
The 60-month contract covers
comprehensive design and engineering services, including utilities,
landscaping, public buildings and the public realm. Phase one will focus on

Arabia's New Murabba Project attracts global firms to shape future city
Spanning approximately 14 million
square meters, the New Murabba development will feature the Mukaab, a
distinctive cube-shaped landmark at its center. Parsons will work closely with
the developer to create an integrated urban environment that brings together
residential, commercial and leisure spaces, with strong emphasis on mobility
and connectivity across the masterplan.
Smith described New Murabba as a
transformative giga-scale project, saying Parsons is proud to support its
delivery. He highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in the Kingdom,
dating back to 1958, and its experience in managing complex urban developments
to the highest safety and quality standards.
Named after Riyadh’s historic Al-Murabba
district, the project is designed around mixed-use neighborhoods where most
destinations are accessible within a 15-minute walk. Its architecture draws
inspiration from Salmani design principles, blending local heritage with
advanced technologies.
