Work progressed at fast pace in Saudi Arabia's Diriyah during 2025
Under the banner “Vision to
Reality,” Diriyah
marked 2025 as a defining year, moving decisively from planning into
large-scale delivery, according to Jerry
Inzerillo, group chief executive officer of Diriyah Co.
Throughout the year, Diriyah Company — the Public Investment Fund entity behind the
Diriyah giga-project — advanced from groundwork to execution. Contracts and
agreements worth more than SR24 billion ($6.4 billion) underscored the
transition from the establishment phase to early operations.
“In 2025, progress was no longer
theoretical,” Inzerillo told Arab News. “The project reached a pivotal stage,
shifting from laying foundations to large-scale delivery — a clear move from
vision to execution.”

He added that these milestones
reinforce Diriyah’s position as one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant national
transformation projects, with expanding local and global impact. “We are
transforming ambition into reality while creating a destination that honors
history and shapes the future,” he said.
During the year, Diriyah Co. signed eight
major contracts and 16 agreements, accelerating momentum across multiple
development streams. The project also gained international recognition, earning
global awards and securing placements in influential international rankings.
Infrastructure development remained
central to enhancing the visitor experience. New road networks improved
connectivity between historic areas and modern developments, while two
high-capacity electricity transmission substations were inaugurated to meet the
growing power demands of residential, hospitality, educational and cultural
assets.
Retail and entertainment offerings
expanded through collaboration with Majid Al-Futtaim Group, bringing a
portfolio of global brands to Diriyah Square. Partnerships with the Saudi
Contractors Authority and the Saudi Tennis Federation further integrated
sports, events and professional initiatives into the urban landscape.

In a nod to its heritage, Diriyah
