Saudi Arabia’s RCU and ASICA sign MoU to increase sports cooperation
Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global sports brand ASICS to strengthen strategic
cooperation in developing AlUla’s sports ecosystem and enhancing talent pathways,
in line with RCU’s long-term vision and future ambitions.
Signed at the Cultural Oasis in
AlUla, the MoU sets out a framework for collaboration under which RCU will
explore opportunities to benefit from ASICS’ technical, operational and
specialist advisory expertise. This includes sports development and performance
services such as assessment and analysis, aimed at raising the overall quality
of sporting experiences in AlUla.

The partnership will focus on
building a more integrated sports ecosystem through initiatives that improve
training environments, boost athletic performance and advance athlete
development and talent programmes. Both parties will also examine opportunities
to create distinctive events and initiatives, as well as attract regional and
international competitions that enhance AlUla’s presence on global sporting
calendars.
In addition, the MoU supports
cooperation on community engagement through grassroots programmes and social
impact initiatives designed to promote participation and wellbeing. It also
opens the door to digital enhancements that improve event delivery and
participant engagement, including smarter registration systems, data management
and participant tracking for the AlUla Trail Race and other events across
AlUla’s annual calendar.
The agreement forms part of RCU’s
broader efforts to strengthen AlUla’s sports ecosystem and increase community
participation in physical activities, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030
to advance the sports sector and enhance quality of life.
