Saudi Arabia’s
AMAALA to promote Red Sea as a global yachting destination
Red Sea
Global (RSG) has announced major developments at AMAALA, aiming to transform
the destination into a world-class, year-round yachting and sailing hub along
Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.
At the
centre of this strategy is Triple Bay Marina, which will feature 116 berths
accommodating yachts up to 140 metres. Designed by HKS, the marina will be
complemented by the AMAALA Yacht Club, high-end waterfront amenities, and a
dedicated sailing academy focused on training the next generation of regional
sailors.
A strategic maritime
location
Positioned
as a warm-weather alternative to Europe’s seasonal sailing circuit, AMAALA
capitalises on the Red Sea’s maritime heritage and ideal conditions. The
destination is set to host the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race in 2027, marking
the first time the prestigious event concludes in the region.

To build
global recognition, AMAALA is already gaining visibility through TEAM AMAALA,
led by Swiss skipper Alan Roura, competing in The Ocean Race Europe 2025. The
campaign reflects values the destination aims to embody: endurance, teamwork,
and international excellence.
Sustainability
at the core
In line with
Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals, the project places environmental
stewardship at its centre. The Corallium Marine Life Institute, based within
AMAALA, is set to become a global hub for marine research and conservation. Its
mission: increase Red Sea biodiversity by 30% by 2040.
Alongside
scientific efforts, the marina will integrate regenerative design and
low-impact operations to protect the surrounding marine ecosystems.
A multi-phase
luxury destination
AMAALA is being
developed as a luxury wellness and yachting destination spanning 4,000 sq km.
The first phase, launching in 2025, includes:
- Eight resorts, totalling 1,470 keys
- Triple Bay Marina and supporting infrastructure
- The AMAALA Yacht Club
- Corallium Marine Life Institute
Future
phases will expand the destination to over 30 hotels, 4,000 rooms, 1,200
branded residences, and a full suite of retail, cultural, and wellness
offerings.

- Nammos Resort AMAALA – 110 guestrooms and 20 branded residences

Infrastructure
and partnerships
Red Sea
Global has made significant construction progress at Triple Bay, AMAALA’s
flagship site. Key updates include:
- Completion of the marina basin flooding
- Ongoing installation of utilities, roads, and landscaping
- Advancement of hospitality, wellness and residential clusters
In August
2025, RSG signed a Services Framework Agreement with Enviro, part of Tabuk Investment
and Tourism Company, to deliver integrated facility management across the
project’s first-phase assets.
Additionally,
the redevelopment of Al Wajh Airport—including a new international
terminal—will support access to the region and facilitate high-end tourism and
yachting traffic.

Looking
Ahead
Upon
completion, AMAALA will operate entirely on renewable energy and incorporate low-carbon,
conservation-focused design. The destination is envisioned not just as a marina
or a luxury resort, but as a year-round centre for maritime culture, eco-conscious
development and elite tourism in the Red Sea region.
As RSG
accelerates delivery, AMAALA is poised to redefine what high-end,
environmentally sustainable yachting tourism can look like—anchored in Saudi
heritage, powered by innovation.
