Saudi cabinet meeting in Neom discusses key developments
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, presided over a Cabinet
session in NEOM. During the meeting, the Cabinet discussed several important
matters, including messages from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and a
meeting with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Key updates were provided on the recent outcomes of the International
Conference on Palestine's peaceful settlement, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and
France.
The Cabinet underscored the historic decision by multiple countries
to officially recognize the Palestinian state, viewing this as a significant
step toward upholding international legitimacy and advancing peace efforts.
Saudi Arabia called on all UN member states to endorse the final document of
the conference, which provides a comprehensive framework for implementing the
two-state solution to promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

Economic growth and domestic developments
Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s impressive
economic performance, highlighted by a 3.9% GDP growth in Q2 2025. This growth
was attributed to the strong performance of various sectors, particularly
non-oil industries. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) praised the Kingdom’s
economy for its resilience in the face of global challenges and its growing
non-oil sector.
The Cabinet also celebrated new industrial ventures in the
Eastern Region, further advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by fostering local
content and increasing competitiveness. These initiatives aim to create an
attractive investment climate and support entrepreneurship. Furthermore,
significant strides in environmental sustainability were acknowledged,
including the rehabilitation of over 500,000 hectares of land and the planting
of more than 151 million trees as part of the Saudi Green Initiative.
The Cabinet approved several new memorandums of
understanding (MoUs) to strengthen international cooperation. These agreements
span various sectors, including mineral resources with Mongolia, health sciences
with China, customs matters with New Zealand, non-oil exports with Oman,
competition protection with Kuwait, accounting practices with Pakistan,
vocational training with SESRIC, research collaboration with Thailand, and a
GCC strategy for combating drugs from 2025 to 2028.
Additionally, a decision was made to implement a
two-semester academic year for general schools for the 1447/1448 AH academic
year, further reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing educational
structures.

Humanitarian support and regional stability
The Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to
providing humanitarian aid to Gaza through air and sea bridges, highlighting
ongoing support for Palestine. It also condemned the provocative actions of
Israeli officials against Al-Aqsa Mosque and called for international
intervention to halt violations of international law.
Recognition was also given to the Kingdom’s Healthy Cities
Program, which achieved significant milestones with Jeddah and Madinah being
designated as healthy cities by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the
Middle East. This accomplishment underscores the country's continuous efforts
to improve public health standards and overall quality of life.
Further, the Cabinet acknowledged the successes of the
Quality of Life Program, which has significantly enhanced infrastructure,
services, and the cultural, entertainment, and sports sectors. These
initiatives are contributing to an improved living standard for all citizens in
the Kingdom.
