Saudi Arabia: DEME working on dredging and expansion of Port of Neom
DEME, in collaboration with the international marine construction firm Archirodon, has been making significant strides on the second phase of the Port of NEOM transformation project. This expansion, located in Duba, Saudi Arabia, is part of the ongoing development of the Duba Port.
The scope of the project includes
large-scale dredging and excavation, widening of the access channel, expanding
the quay wall, and completing dry earthworks. The second phase of Oxagon will
introduce a new basin to the existing Port of Duba, with an extensive quayside
designed to accommodate automated container handling operations.

DEME's dredging efforts will allow
the port to accommodate the world’s largest vessels. According to DEME, all
materials extracted during the channel development will be repurposed to aid in
the broader growth of Oxagon.
Amedeo Peyron, Area Director for the
Middle East, expressed the team's enthusiasm, stating, “We were thrilled to win
this international tender in partnership with Archirodon, a highly respected
name in the Middle East. We were selected from a competitive pool of
international candidates. Within our consortium, each partner brings their
unique expertise to the table. We trust each other and always find ways to
deliver the work efficiently, on time, and within budget.”
