Saudi Arabia’s Sindalah Island becomes first tangible showcase of Neom

The NEOM Board of Directors has officially launched Sindalah, a new luxury travel destination in the Red Sea, marking a significant milestone in the ambitious NEOM development project. First announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in December 2022, Sindalah represents the first tangible showcase of NEOM's vision.

Transforming Sindalah from concept to reality has involved a comprehensive two-year effort, employing a peak workforce of 30,000 and collaborating with four local contracting partners and around 60 subcontractors.

This momentous opening aligns with Saudi Arabia's tourism goals under Vision 2030 and underscores NEOM's commitment to creating innovative destinations. To commemorate the occasion, Sindalah welcomed its first guests to experience the island's unique offerings.

Nestled in the stunning azure waters of the Red Sea, just five kilometers off the NEOM coastline in northwest Saudi Arabia, Sindalah spans 840,000 square meters and is strategically located 17 hours by sea from major Mediterranean destinations. It serves as NEOM's gateway to the Red Sea, providing convenient access for yacht owners from Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the GCC.

Sindalah beautifully combines its natural landscape with cutting-edge design, developed by renowned yachting architecture firm Luca Dini. The island will feature world-class restaurants, hotels, venues, and unique experiences.

By 2028, Sindalah aims to welcome up to 2,400 guests daily and create approximately 3,500 jobs, contributing to the Kingdom’s growing hospitality and tourism sectors while supporting economic diversification in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
