Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Global awards more than 600 contracts
Saudi developer Red
Sea Global (RSG) has awarded more than 600 contracts worth SR23 billion
($6.13 billion) to international and regional partners as construction
progresses on the luxury AMAALA tourism destination on the Red Sea coast.
Owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public
Investment Fund, RSG has engaged major contractors and development
partners, including Al-Rawabi Hassan Allam, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, DEPA
Group, Alec Engineering and Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Co.
The contracts cover a broad range of construction,
infrastructure and utility works as RSG moves toward its target of welcoming
AMAALA’s first guests in 2025.

RSG said its partners were selected to support its vision of
creating luxury and wellness destinations while incorporating responsible
development, regenerative practices and collaboration with local communities.
John
Pagano, group CEO of RSG, said the company had made significant progress
across the development, including its resorts, visitor experiences, utilities
and infrastructure.
“We have achieved remarkable progress across every aspect of
AMAALA, from our signature resorts and immersive experiences to essential
utilities and infrastructure,” Pagano said.
He added that sustainability and regenerative principles
remained central to the project’s development.
“Upon completion, AMAALA will offer a unique collection of
assets and experiences designed to promote wellness, lifestyle and human
connection,” Pagano said.
The destination is expected to feature nearly 4,000 hotel
rooms across 30 hotels, alongside luxury villas, apartments and estate homes.
It forms part of Saudi Arabia’s wider economic diversification strategy, with
tourism identified as a key sector under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 program.
Construction gathers pace
RSG said substantial progress had been made across several
key areas of AMAALA. At Triple Bay Marina Village, major structures including
the Equinox Resort and Village Boutique Hotel are approaching completion.
The marina basin has also been filled, while construction
continues on other flagship facilities, including the AMAALA Yacht Club and the
Corallium Sea Marine Life Institute.
The development’s wellness offering is also taking shape,
with projects including Jayasom and Clinique La Prairie, alongside luxury
hospitality brands such as Rosewood, Six Senses and Four Seasons. These
properties are planned to open as part of the destination’s initial development
phase.
AMAALA is being designed to operate entirely on solar power,
supporting Saudi Arabia’s environmental and sustainability objectives.
RSG said primary infrastructure works were also nearing
completion, including 35 kilometers of internal roads and systems for
electricity, water, irrigation and communications. The company expects the
infrastructure network to be energized in December.

As part of its landscaping and environmental plans, RSG aims
to plant 3 million trees and shrubs by the end of the year, helping create
green public spaces throughout the destination.
The Ministry of Health has also approved the design of the
AMAALA Hospital, which is planned to provide healthcare services to residents
and visitors across the 4,200-square-kilometer destination.
With construction advancing across hospitality,
infrastructure, wellness and marine facilities, AMAALA is emerging as a major
component of Saudi Arabia’s ambition to establish the Kingdom as a global
destination for luxury tourism and wellness.
