Qiddiya City
is accelerating construction on two major sports destinations — the National
Tennis Centre and Qiddiya City Golf Course — as Saudi Arabia expands its
world-class sports and entertainment infrastructure.
Located about 45 kilometers southwest of Riyadh, Qiddiya City
is developing the adjacent venues as part of its broader sports masterplan,
combining international-standard competition facilities with athlete
development programs and amenities for the wider community.
The progress follows the opening of major entertainment
attractions including Six Flags Qiddiya City and Aquarabia, the Middle East’s
largest water theme park.
National Tennis Centre
Set against the Tuwaiq Mountains, the National Tennis Centre
is designed to become the largest tennis complex of its kind in the region.

Arabia’s Qiddiya launches Play Qiddiya City
Designed by international sports architecture firm Populous,
the facility will comprise 30 courts — 28 hard courts and two clay courts —
with combined seating capacity of approximately 33,000 spectators.
The courts are being developed to meet ATP, WTA and ITF
specifications, positioning the centre to host major international tennis
tournaments.
The centerpiece will be a 15,000-seat Centre Court featuring
a retractable roof. The venue will be supported by a 5,000-seat Court 1, a
2,000-seat Court 2 and six outdoor match courts, each accommodating around 450
spectators.
Court 3 will be an 8,000-seat indoor multi-purpose arena with
a retractable roof, allowing it to host tennis competitions as well as concerts
and other large-scale events.
The complex will include six competition courts, six indoor
courts and 14 practice courts.
A dedicated High-Performance Training Centre will provide
facilities for training, recovery, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and wellness,
supporting the development of Saudi athletes and high-performance tennis
talent.
Beyond professional competition, the centre will offer
community tennis programs, public spaces and fan experiences aimed at
encouraging participation in the sport across different age and ability groups.

Arabia marks a major milestone by opening Six Flags Theme Park at Qiddiya City
Its architecture is designed to complement the surrounding
landscape, with layered green facades intended to integrate the complex into
the Tuwaiq Mountains and create a distinctive sports and entertainment
destination.
Championship golf course
Adjacent to the tennis complex, the 18-hole Qiddiya City Golf
Course is approaching completion ahead of its scheduled opening later in 2026.
Designed by renowned golfer and course architect Sir Nick
Faldo, the championship course uses the natural topography of the Tuwaiq
Mountains to create a course intended to cater to players ranging from
beginners to elite professionals.
The wider golf development will include an iconic clubhouse,
a full-service golf academy, driving range and dedicated leisure, fitness and
wellness facilities.
Through Qiddiya City’s partnership with the Faldo Series, the
venue will also support youth golf development and provide opportunities for
emerging Saudi players to compete and develop their skills.
Building an integrated sports destination
Together, the tennis and golf developments are intended to
establish Qiddiya City as an integrated sports hub serving professional
athletes, local communities and international visitors.
The venues are expected to expand opportunities for sports
participation and athlete development while supporting international
competitions and sports tourism as Saudi Arabia continues to invest heavily in
the sector under Vision 2030.
Qiddiya City is being developed around the concept of the
“Power of Play” and has already welcomed visitors to Six Flags Qiddiya City and
Aquarabia.

Arabia: Faldo-designed golf course to debut in Qiddiya in 2026
Its wider portfolio includes PlayMaker Studios, the Speed
Park Track, the planned Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, the Qiddiya City
Horse Racing Venue, a dedicated Gaming & Esports District and the Qiddiya
Performing Arts Centre.
The city is also planned as a mixed-use destination featuring
residential communities, retail outlets, offices, hotels, schools and
hospitals.
Transport infrastructure will form a key part of the
development, with plans for a high-speed rail connection linking Qiddiya City
with Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District in about 17 minutes and the
future King Salman International Airport in approximately 30 minutes.
The development forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader effort
to establish the Kingdom as a global destination for sports, entertainment and
culture while creating new opportunities for residents, athletes, visitors and
international investors.
