Riyadh Municipality and The
Helicopter Co. to develop three new helipads
In a significant move for Riyadh's
air connectivity, Riyadh Municipality and The Helicopter Co. have sealed a deal
to establish three additional helicopter landing sites. The agreement, signed
by the CEO of THC, Arnaud Martinez, and Turki Abdulaziz Al-Turki, assistant
deputy for humanity and service projects at Riyadh Municipality, marks a
milestone in enhancing aerial mobility within the city.
The memorandum of understanding
outlines plans to develop strategic landing sites in Diriyah, Edge of the
World, and Ushaiqer. These locations were meticulously selected to bolster
accessibility and facilitate smoother air traffic operations. Diriyah,
positioned on the northwestern fringes, will encompass an area of 11,000 sq. m.
Meanwhile, the scenic Edge of the World, located northwest of Riyadh, will be
allocated 9,000 sq. m. Ushaiqer, nestled in the Najd region, is set to receive
8,500 sq. m.
