Exhibition at Diriyah captures beauty of the night
SAMoCA, the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art,
presents a captivating exhibition titled 'Under the Moonlight', embracing the
enigmatic allure of the nocturnal hours. Located within Riyadh’s vibrant JAX
District, this showcase invites visitors to explore the mysteries and
enchantments of the night.
Featuring the creations of over 30 artists hailing from both
local and international backgrounds, 'Under the Moonlight' offers a diverse
array of artistic expressions. Through mediums ranging from paintings and
sculptures to videos and installations, artists delve into the depths of
nighttime symbolism and ambiance.

Nights Returns: A two-month extravaganza of culture, cuisine, and entertainment
Among the standout pieces is 'Constellations' by Australian
artist Hossein Valamanesh, a mesmerizing composition inspired by the wisdom of
Rumi, intricately crafted from silicon carbide, gravel, wire, and gold leaf.
Equally captivating is 'A Song of Silence' by Saudi Arabian talent Muhannad
Shono, a sinuous sculpture fashioned from charred palm, evoking a hauntingly beautiful
narrative.
Since its inauguration on November 1st, 2023, SAMoCA has
been a beacon of contemporary artistic expression in Saudi Arabia. Nestled
within the historic JAX heritage site in Diriyah, the museum aims to cultivate
a deeper appreciation for art throughout the Kingdom while providing a platform
for local and global artists to showcase their work.

Season spotlights the living heritage of the kingdom's birthplace
'Under the Moonlight' will grace SAMoCA's halls until May
20th, offering free admission with advance reservation. Visitors can immerse
themselves in the exhibition's ambiance from 10 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and
from 4 PM to 10 PM on weekends, experiencing the nocturnal wonders captured by
visionary artists.
