Diriyah Season spotlights the living heritage of the kingdom's
birthplace
Diriyah Season, presented by Diriyah Company in
collaboration with Diriyah Gate Development Authority, is set to launch in
December, offering a captivating array of events and experiences that vividly
showcase the living heritage of Diriyah, the birthplace of Saudi Arabia.
This unique season will immerse visitors in a blend of arts,
culture, live performances, and experiences that present nearly 600 years of
history and heritage in an engaging and entertaining manner. The festivities
will span various areas of Diriyah, including parks, wadis, Bujairi Terrace,
and the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif.

The three-month schedule of events caters to a wide range of
interests. Visitors can look forward to immersive art installations,
exhibitions, exceptional culinary events, live music and theater performances,
the eagerly anticipated Diriyah ePrix Championship organized by the Ministry of
Sport, a grand return of Layali Diriyah, as well as outdoor activities like
horseback riding, camping, and stargazing.
This year's theme pays tribute to Diriyah's story and
celebrates Al-Awja, emphasizing the call for all Saudis to come together and
commemorate their shared culture and identity. While Diriyah is a vital
component of Saudi Arabia's cultural identity and national pride, it also plays
a crucial role in the Kingdom's vision for the future as a unique cultural
capital.
Second
edition of "Biennial Al-Diriyah Foundation" to be held in February
2024
As the birthplace of the First Saudi State, Diriyah is a
city built on the foundation of its people—a place where individuals from
diverse backgrounds converge to experience the distinct Saudi way of life.
Diriyah Season offers an exceptional opportunity for tourists from around the
region and the world to experience the warm hospitality, rich culture, heritage,
and traditions of the Kingdom and its people, fostering cultural dialogue both
domestically and internationally.
Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Saudi Tourism Minister, board member, and
secretary-general of Diriyah Company, highlighted the importance of authenticity
in tourism and its potential to create meaningful and memorable connections and
dialogue.
Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of Diriyah Company, emphasized
that Diriyah Season would unite the world in celebrating culture and shared
experiences, showcasing Diriyah, often referred to as 'The City of Earth,' as
one of the Kingdom's most culturally significant locations.
