across tourism, heavy industry, and humanitarian initiatives. These sectors are
not only driving local economic transformation but also expanding Saudi
Arabia’s role as a key global player in aid and development.
New tourist attractions, enhanced
medical services, and growing non-oil exports are all unfolding alongside
increasing engagement in digital platforms and charitable campaigns. This
reflects the country’s shift from policy planning to the realization of
tangible projects impacting citizens, visitors, and international partners
alike.

Meanwhile, Riyadh’s entertainment
scene continues to flourish. With Riyadh Season attracting over 17 million
visitors, General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh confirmed
the ongoing success. Additionally, Qiddiya’s construction of a new Performing
Arts Centre, designed by Tom Wiscombe Architecture, marks a long-term
investment in cultural infrastructure.
Industrial
Diversification and Economic Growth
Saudi Arabia’s economic
diversification is well underway, with non-oil exports growing by 7.4% in
December 2025, according to the General Authority for Statistics. Manufacturing
and localization projects are creating jobs and expanding production outside
the oil sector.
MODON, which oversees industrial
cities, announced several significant deals in Sudair, including pharmaceutical
and manufacturing projects worth SAR562 million and SAR366 million.
Additionally, a multi-billion-riyal initiative is underway to establish local
vaccine production, further strengthening the country’s health security and
industrial capacity.
Humanitarian
Contributions and Healthcare Initiatives
Humanitarian support remains a
cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s foreign policy. Since 2012, the Kingdom has
contributed $12.6 billion to aid Yemen, while a SAR9 million collaboration
between the European Union and the Saudi
Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen aims to address the
humanitarian and healthcare needs of Marib governorate.
In Jordan, the Saudi Fund for
Development has laid the groundwork for the Prince Faisal Hospital expansion
with a $14 million grant. This will fund a new four-story, 8,000-square-meter
extension, improving capacity and services for patients.
Religious services and charitable
work continue to grow as well. During Ramadan 1447 AH, 2.2 million Quran copies
will be distributed to 120 countries. The National Campaign for Charitable Work
(Ehsan) has received a generous SAR70 million donation from Saudi leadership,
while a central kitchen in Gaza has been providing 24,000 daily meals during
Ramadan.
Support for pilgrims is also
evolving. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduced a new "Umrah and Visit
Guide" available in 16 languages, and 10,000 wheelchairs are now available
for elderly and disabled visitors at the two holy mosques. Pilgrim satisfaction
remains high, with a 94% approval rating for services, logistics, and
organization in 2025.
