New tender issued for Gulf of Aqaba development
Saudi Arabia's Neom has initiated a tender, inviting
companies to participate in bidding for a contract aimed at developing
essential infrastructure for its Gulf of Aqaba project.
The tender, targeting infrastructure works for District Six,
also known as the Southern Gateway, was issued on 27 February, with a
submission deadline set for 19 March.
The project entails the construction of a 20-kilometer
coastal road and Wadi culverts.

District Six is further segmented into three zones: zone 14,
zone 15, and zone 16, boasting a coastline of approximately 24 kilometers and
covering a total land area of around 65 square kilometers.
Aecom, a US-based engineering firm, serves as the project
consultant for the Gulf of Aqaba development.
Recent reports from MEED indicate that Neom has also
tendered infrastructure works for District Four, commonly referred to as Jungle
Club.

unveils Gulf of Aqaba: A luxurious oasis of futuristic hotels
Neom is actively executing a series of projects as part of
its broader infrastructure development plan for the region. This includes
enhancements to the existing coastal road network, encompassing the Gulf of
Aqaba coastal road from Ras El Sheikh, Ras El Sheikh road, Magna road, Al Bada
road, and Highway 5. These roads are crucial in facilitating access to future
Neom assets along the Gulf of Aqaba coast, which include recently announced
initiatives such as Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun,
and Gidori.
Progress in Gulf of Aqaba Development
Neom has already achieved significant progress in advancing
its Gulf of Aqaba destination. In September of last year, MEED reported that
Neom had selected a joint venture comprising the local Al-Ayuni Investment
Company and Turkish contractor Limak Holding to undertake early works for the
Cube mountain resort at the Gulf of Aqaba in Neom.
The scope of this project involves enabling works, vertical
and inclined borehole drilling, construction of a drill-and-blast access
tunnel, excavation activities atop the mountain, and other associated tasks.
The Cube, situated atop a mountain overlooking the Gulf of
Aqaba, will feature sides measuring approximately 100 meters each.
Spanning a 120-kilometer coastal stretch with an average
width of 3.5 kilometers, the Gulf of Aqaba area within Neom covers a total land
area of approximately 430 square kilometers.
