NEOM's Topian food company signs more agreements to advance agriculture
Topian, the leading NEOM food company dedicated to advancing
food systems for the future, marked the commencement of the Saudi International
Marine Exhibition and Conference by announcing three significant agreements.
These agreements aim to fortify Saudi Arabia's standing as a global frontrunner
in sustainable aquaculture.
During the event, Topian inked a pivotal deal with the
National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program, concentrating on
research, technological advancements, sustainable aquaculture practices in the
Red Sea region, and the establishment of a national seafood market.

Another significant agreement was reached with Pure Salmon,
a renowned global leader headquartered in Abu Dhabi, specializing in land-based
aquaculture facilities utilizing Recirculating Aquaculture Systems technology.
This agreement involves the establishment of a state-of-the-art facility at
NEOM, covering the entire salmon production value chain. This pioneering
facility will cater to the burgeoning demand for salmon in the Kingdom and
neighboring nations, offering locally produced products distinguished by
freshness, quality, and flavor.
The third agreement was signed with the National Aquaculture
Group, aiming to foster the development of the local aquaculture sector and
expand the commercialization of NAQUA's seafood products across the Saudi
market.

Ali Al-Shaikhi, CEO of the NLFDP and director general of
fisheries at the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture,
highlighted that this agreement focuses on four crucial areas to advance the
livestock and fisheries sector. These include research, technological
development, innovation to promote sustainable aquaculture, and the enhancement
of the local seafood market.
Stephane Farouze, chairman and founder of Pure Salmon,
expressed enthusiasm for the strategic collaboration with Topian, emphasizing
their shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and food security in
alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030.

Diego Illingworth, CEO of NAQUA, echoed similar sentiments,
emphasizing the collaborative effort between Topian and NAQUA to explore new
opportunities in aquaculture, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
Topian's objective is to drive sustainable aquaculture in
the Kingdom by leveraging advanced technologies. A thriving aquaculture sector
will not only enhance food security and self-sufficiency but also ensure the
sustainable production of fresh and nutritious seafood in Saudi Arabia.
