Solar-LIT wins contract for robotic cleaning at NEOM's
Green Hydrogen powerhouse
In a pivotal move for NEOM's green energy initiatives,
Solar-LIT, a distinguished provider of automated robotic cleaning systems for
solar installations, has clinched a substantial contract from Larsen &
Toubro (L&T), a leading Indian engineering and construction firm. The agreement
entails the deployment of Solar-LIT's cutting-edge solutions at NEOM's
groundbreaking utility-scale green hydrogen plant, marking a significant stride
in Saudi Arabia's pursuit of clean and sustainable energy.
The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), a collaborative
venture between Acwa Power, Air Products, and NEOM, is spearheading the
establishment of a colossal plant designed to generate carbon-free hydrogen
through the utilization of renewable sources such as wind and solar power. This
initiative stands as a key component of Saudi Arabia's ambitious strategy to
propel the global shift towards cleaner energy alternatives.
India’s
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) secures major contract at Neom, Saudi Arabia
L&T, acting as the engineering, procurement, and
construction (EPC) contractor, assumes a pivotal role in various facets of the
project. This includes the construction of a substantial 2.2 GWac PV Solar
Plant, a 1.65 GW Wind Generation Balance Plant, and a robust 400 MWh Battery
Energy Storage System. Additionally, L&T will undertake the construction of
three 380 kV switching stations and lay down 306 km of 380 kV overhead lines to
fortify the kingdom's expansive grid network.
The collaboration between Solar-LIT and L&T is rooted in
past successes. Ravindran, Senior Vice President of Larsen & Toubro, lauded
Solar-LIT's previous contributions in supplying robotic solutions for their
projects. He underscored the significance of fostering a fruitful and enduring
partnership, not only in the NEOM Green Hydrogen project but also in upcoming
ventures.

Solutions awarded contract to develop Neom’s hydrogen facility
In a parallel development, L&T has forged another key
alliance, this time with Vrinda Nano Technologies (VNT), an Indian provider of
green power solutions. VNT is set to deliver wireless string monitoring boxes
for the NEOM Green Hydrogen plant site in Oxagon. These all-weather devices
exhibit seamless functionality even in challenging conditions like sandstorms,
equipped with redundant wireless networking capabilities for effortless
monitoring down to the string level.
L&T's selection of VNT underscores the commitment to
partnering with top-tier companies employing cutting-edge technologies. VNT's
innovative approach and proven experience in demanding terrains position them
as the ideal choice for supplying the NEOM project.
The recent contract secured by Solar-LIT and the strategic
partnerships involving L&T and VNT signify pivotal milestones in the
advancement of NEOM's green hydrogen plant. These collaborations underscore the
international expertise and state-of-the-art technology contributing to the
realization of Saudi Arabia's vision for a sustainable and clean energy future.
