India’s Larsen & Toubro
(L&T) secures major contract at Neom, Saudi Arabia
India’s multinational
conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won a contract to work on world’s
largest green hydrogen project in Saudi futuristic city Neom.
The agreement to this
effect was signed by Neom Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC)’s primary EPC
contractor and system integrator Air Products and L&T.
As part of the contract,
L&T will execute the power grid and power generation works. The agreement
has been signed as a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) agreement.
Located in NEOM, NGHC’s
mega-plant will integrate up to 4 GW of solar and wind energy to produce up to
600 tons per day of carbon-free hydrogen in the form of green ammonia.
The project, that will
be functional in 2026, is expected to produce about 1.2 million tonnes of green
ammonia per year.
