Saudi TROJENA awards contract for 4.4 km NEOM time travel tunnel
The contract for the TROJENA Infrastructure deal has been officially awarded for the construction of the 4.4-kilometer NEOM Time Travel Tunnel. Saudi Arabia's NEOM has granted this contract to a joint venture involving the local company Al-Ayuni Investments & Contracting and Turkish Limak Holding.
This comprehensive contract encompasses the construction of the tunnel and a freight depot, along with excavation work in TROJENA, a mountain destination located 50 kilometers from Saudi Arabia's Gulf of Aqaba Coast. Bidding companies expressed their interest in the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, and Automation (MEICA) contract in May.

to perform project management at Neom’s Trojena
The NEOM Time Travel Tunnel spans 4.4 kilometers and includes twin-bored tunnels with an at-grade section, as well as ventilation shafts. These tunnels will connect to TROJENA's central development, which features the Mirage Visitor Center and the Vault. The project also involves excavation work to support major tieback structures for anchor bays and anchor tunnels, which will facilitate the construction of suspension bridges as part of the development project.
Adjacent to the Mirage Visitor Center, the freight
depot will be constructed and will be known as the Mirage freight depot,
providing access to the underground Time Travel Tunnel.

TROJENA's vision is to redefine luxury as a unique mountain destination in NEOM. It aspires to become the epicenter of luxury by offering unparalleled human-centered experiences. Situated at the heart of NEOM, TROJENA will be the Gulf's first outdoor ski resort.
This facility will not only host
world-class sporting events, cultural festivals, and art exhibitions but also
rely entirely on renewable energy to preserve the region's rich cultural and
environmental heritage. TROJENA is scheduled for completion and welcoming
visitors and new residents by late 2026, with the exciting prospect of hosting
the Asian Winter Games in 2029.
