in REGENT
NEOM, the visionary project, has forged an investment
agreement with REGENT, a US-based electric seaglider manufacturer, as part of
its ongoing efforts to enhance its transportation solutions.
Seagliders seamlessly blend the speed of aircraft with the convenience of boats, presenting a sustainable and pioneering transportation
alternative within the Kingdom.

This partnership between NEOM and REGENT underscores the
gigaproject's dedication to constructing an integrated, shared, and
environmentally sustainable mobility system.
According to a press release by NEOM, facilitated through
its strategic branch, the NEOM Investment Fund, this agreement represents a
longstanding collaboration with REGENT, with the aim of reinforcing NEOM's
capabilities in sustainable water transportation. It will offer cutting-edge
water transport services in the region to passengers.
As part of the agreement, REGENT has committed to
establishing a research and development and training hub in the Middle East,
facilitating the engagement of young Saudi engineers and tech graduates from
NEOM in groundbreaking technology, starting in 2024.

Majid Mufti, CEO of the NEOM Investment Fund, expressed,
"We have worked closely with NEOM’s mobility sector to identify exciting

our progress toward zero-carbon operations."
Terry Wong, Executive Director of Land Mobility at NEOM,
highlighted that seagliders are an integral component of NEOM Mobility's
ambition to establish the world's first truly sustainable, shared, safe, and
seamlessly interconnected multi-modal transportation system. He further noted
that seagliders would link key destinations along 468 kilometers of coastline
and embody their commitment to zero-carbon technologies, fostering the growth
of new industries and skills within the Kingdom.

Billy Thalheimer, Co-founder and CEO of REGENT, stated,
"NEOM’s goal to build a carbon-free community through revolutionary design
is strongly aligned with our mission to build sustainable connections using
seagliders."
The electric seagliders developed by REGENT operate on a
hull when docked, employ wave-tolerant hydrofoils in harbors, and glide just
one wingspan above the water's surface over open water, reaching impressive
speeds of up to 289 kilometers per hour. REGENT's flagship seaglider is the
12-passenger Viceroy.
