About Diriyah:

Diriyah holds a prominent place in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, closely associated with the first Saudi state established in 1727 by Imam Muhammad bin Saud. It served as his initial power base, the first government capital, and a hub for science and social activities. At the heart of Diriyah lies the At-Turaif district, one of the prominent neighborhoods encompassing Salwa Palace, the seat of government at that time, and the royal family's residence. In 2010, UNESCO recognized At-Turaif Historical District as a World Heritage Site for its vast mud brick district, one of the largest in the world.

In 2017, King Salman bin Abdulaziz established the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) to preserve the historical and architectural heritage of Diriyah, as it holds great significance as the home of the imams of Al-Saud and the foundation of the First Saudi State. DGDA also oversees the Diriyah Project, covering an area of 194 square kilometers.

In 2022, the Diriyah Company, a key project of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), was established to develop and execute the Diriyah Project, transforming it into a global destination that embodies the authentic Saudi heritage. It will provide visitors with a chance to explore the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in an ancient Najdi atmosphere. The Diriyah Company aims to make Diriyah one of the world's foremost heritage, cultural, and entertainment destinations. Diriyah boasts various educational, cultural, and artistic institutions, international hotels and resorts, renowned shopping destinations, and globally acclaimed restaurants and cafes.
