The project is a major component of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify
its economy and develop tourism as a key growth sector under Vision 2030.
In January, Inzerillo told Arab News that Riyadh would undergo continued
transformation “every year,” creating visible changes for both residents and
visitors.
He said tourists would not need to wait until 2030 to experience the
changes taking place across the capital’s rapidly developing tourism sector.
UN Tourism, formerly known as the World Tourism Organization, is the
United Nations agency responsible for promoting responsible, sustainable and
universally accessible tourism.
The organization advocates for tourism as a driver of economic growth,
inclusive development and environmental sustainability, while working with
governments and industry stakeholders to advance the sector globally.
