Saudi Electricity rebrands itself as Saudi Energy
Saudi Electricity Company
has unveiled a new corporate identity and officially rebranded as Saudi Energy (SE),
signaling a strategic evolution in its role within Saudi Arabia’s rapidly
transforming energy landscape.
The rebrand aligns with sweeping structural
reforms across the Kingdom’s energy sector and supports the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. The
company stated that the new identity reflects its strengthened commitment to
energy supply security, enhanced grid reliability, and long-term
sustainability.
Building on Sector Reforms
Chief Executive Officer Eng. Khalid Al-Ghamdi
said the transformation builds on financial, regulatory, and structural reforms
introduced since 2020 under the Ministerial Committee for the Restructuring of
the Electricity Sector. The committee is chaired by Energy Minister Prince
Abdulaziz bin Salman.

Al-Ghamdi emphasized that the rebranding
represents an evolution — not a departure — from the company’s core mandate.
Instead, it marks a new chapter that honors its legacy while projecting a
modern institutional identity centered on trust, sustainability, and
innovation.
Expanding Role in Energy Storage and System
Stability
According to the company, the name Saudi
Energy better captures its broader responsibilities within the national energy
ecosystem. These include developing and deploying energy storage systems,
optimizing the electricity generation mix, reducing reliance on liquid fuels,
and modernizing transmission and distribution networks through automation and
digitalization.
The company also highlighted ongoing
localization and investment initiatives aimed at strengthening sector
efficiency and resilience. Saudi Energy reaffirmed its critical role in
enabling electrical infrastructure, integrating diverse energy sources, and
maintaining system stability to ensure long-term energy security.
Despite the new branding, operations will
continue under the existing regulatory framework governing its licensed
activities across generation, transmission, distribution, and storage —
ensuring operational continuity and governance stability.

corporate promise: “Around you, for you.” The company
plans to enhance service quality, expand digital engagement channels, and
respond more effectively to the needs of residential, commercial, and
industrial customers.
The
rebranding also aligns the company with international best practices in
managing energy networks and critical infrastructure, reinforcing its
contribution to Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global energy hub.
