Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal order approving the creation of the Riyadh
University of Arts, a new independent educational institution that will operate
under the supervision of the Ministry
of Culture (Saudi Arabia).
The university, to be based in Riyadh, will
have its own legal status along with financial and administrative independence.
It will focus on specialized education in culture and the arts, with the goal
of nurturing Saudi talent across creative disciplines through advanced academic
programs aligned with international standards and the ambitions of Saudi Vision
2030.

Under the royal directive, the minister of
culture has been authorized to carry out the responsibilities of the
university’s Board of Trustees until the board is formally established. This
measure aims to accelerate administrative procedures and enable the university
to begin operations promptly.
To strengthen its academic offerings, the
institution plans to collaborate with leading international universities and
cultural institutions, allowing for the exchange of expertise and the
development of high-quality educational programs.
The establishment of the university reflects
the Kingdom’s broader efforts to enhance its status as a regional cultural hub
and support the expansion of its creative industries.
Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud,
who will chair the university’s Board of Trustees, welcomed the royal order and
expressed gratitude to King Salman and Mohammed bin Salman for their continued
support in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s cultural presence regionally and
globally.

Prince Badr noted that the Riyadh University
of Arts is a key initiative under the National Culture Strategy, designed to
