Saudi Dodgeball Federation to organize Ramadan event in AlUla
The Saudi Dodgeball Federation,
in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, will
host a Ramadan dodgeball event in AlUla on 2 and 3 March. The initiative forms
part of a broader programme of community sports activities during the holy
month, aimed at increasing grassroots participation in organised sport.
The event will take place at Skhirat Stadium,
offering a structured yet welcoming competitive environment. Matches are
scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on both evenings, allowing participants and
spectators to attend after iftar.
Inclusive programme for all ages
Organisers say the two-day event will feature a
mix of exhibition games and interactive matches. Visitors will have the
opportunity to step onto the court, observe competitive play, and gain a better
understanding of official dodgeball rules and formats.

Designed to accommodate a wide range of age
groups, the programme allows newcomers to try the sport under supervision while
learning fundamental rules, techniques and safety guidelines. School-age
children, families and older residents will be able to share the same sporting
space, reinforcing the event’s inclusive spirit.
Dodgeball is considered one of the emerging
sports gaining traction in AlUla, and the Ramadan initiative supports efforts
to expand its reach. The Royal Commission’s wider strategy aims to position the
governorate as a multi-sport destination, using varied events to strengthen its
profile.
Supporting health and quality of life
The Royal Commission for AlUla links the event
to broader community objectives focused on wellbeing and social engagement. By
introducing dodgeball into its sports calendar, the commission seeks to create
more consistent opportunities for residents to engage in organised physical
activity.
The Saudi Dodgeball Federation noted that
evening matches and open participation align with national goals to enhance
quality of life. Encouraging moderate exercise, social interaction and regular
movement during Ramadan reflects the Kingdom’s wider sports sector ambitions to
promote healthier, more active lifestyles.
