of Honor by the British Safety Council,
following its achievement of a Five-Star rating in a comprehensive occupational
health and safety audit. The distinction makes Diriyah Company the first
developer in the region to receive both honors.
The awards reflect the company’s systematic
integration of occupational health and safety across all stages of its
operations, from planning and construction to long-term management. Diriyah
Company oversees an average workforce of approximately 50,000 people and
manages more than 2,500 heavy-duty machines across its development sites.

The British Safety Council’s Five-Star Audit is
an in-depth evaluation that benchmarks an organization’s health and safety
systems against international best practices. For Diriyah Company, the audit
reviewed policies, procedures, and operational controls, with a focus on how
safety requirements are implemented on-site and embedded within management
frameworks.

Auditors assessed more than 50 core elements
of the company’s safety management system. The process included interviews with
senior leadership, employees, and key stakeholders, as well as site inspections
to verify that documented procedures are consistently applied in daily
operations.
The Sword of Honor and Five-Star rating
represent the British Safety Council’s highest levels of international
recognition for health and safety excellence. The achievement underscores
Diriyah Company’s commitment to safeguarding people, ensuring operational
integrity, and supporting long-term sustainability across its large-scale
development program.
Leadership Commitment and Safety Performance
Group Chief Executive Officer Jerry Inzerillo
said occupational health and safety is treated as a central pillar of Diriyah
Company’s operations rather than a compliance requirement. He noted that the
recognition reflects the company’s focus on advanced safety systems, effective
risk management, and robust emergency preparedness.
Diriyah Company reported a Total Recordable
Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.017 across its ongoing infrastructure projects, which
it described as evidence of the effectiveness of its safety framework and its
commitment to meeting international construction standards while protecting its
workforce.
Supporting Vision 2030 and Economic Growth
The company linked its safety performance to
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, citing contributions to safe employment
practices, efficient project delivery, and strong governance over a multi-year
development program.
Diriyah is expected to deliver significant
economic benefits, including a direct contribution of approximately SAR70
billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP, the creation of more than 180,000 jobs, and
housing for around 100,000 residents.

The Diriyah master plan includes office
districts alongside cultural, educational, and entertainment facilities, such
as museums, a university, an opera house, Diriyah Arena, hospitality venues,
restaurants, and approximately 40 hotels and resorts. These components are
designed to function as an integrated destination for residents, workers, and
visitors.
Diriyah Company said strong health and safety
performance will remain a priority as the development expands in scale and
complexity. The British Safety Council’s recognition, recorded at 18:52 local
time (15:52 GMT) by SPA, is seen as reinforcing the company’s commitment to
maintaining safe operations while delivering its long-term economic and social
