New luxury retreat near Diriyah to offer amazing experiences to visitors

Saudi Arabia’s hospitality sector is accelerating at an impressive pace. According to data from the Saudi Ministry of Tourism and Oxford Economics, the Kingdom recorded a 63% hotel occupancy rate in Q1 2025—up from 60.9% during the same period last year. Nearly 39,000 new jobs were added in the sector, bringing total tourism employment to around 983,000. With an average daily hotel rate of USD 127 (SAR 477), and more than USD 1 trillion in tourism investments planned under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is reimagining its deserts into destinations of world-class luxury and innovation.

Aman Enters the Saudi Landscape with Amansamar
At the forefront of this transformation is Amansamar—a serene new addition by Aman Group, set amid the dramatic cliffs of Wadi Safar near the historic Diriyah. This upcoming ultra-luxury resort and branded residences will reflect Aman’s signature philosophy of harmony, simplicity, and privacy.

Designed by the renowned Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, Amansamar will offer 80 rooms within low-slung structures that blend seamlessly with the desert terrain. Emphasizing natural light and unobstructed views, the resort is envisioned as a peaceful sanctuary just outside Riyadh, near the UNESCO-listed birthplace of the Saudi state.

Cliffside Living, Elevated
Beyond its hotel offerings, Amansamar will include a limited collection of Aman-branded residences—ultra-luxurious five- and six-bedroom estates, each spanning approximately 9,000 square metres. These private cliffside homes will be designed to capture the vast beauty of the surroundings while ensuring the utmost seclusion.

The resort will also house a comprehensive Aman Spa, featuring hammams, banya houses, and hydrotherapy facilities, as well as a variety of dining concepts. Leisure options will include a Racquet Club, multiple swimming pools, and a dedicated Kids’ Club. Homeowners will enjoy privileged access to a Residence Club and invitations to Aman’s exclusive global member network, spanning destinations from New York to Tokyo.

Aman’s Growing Regional Presence
Amansamar adds to Aman’s expanding footprint in the Middle East. Other upcoming developments include Janu Diriyah and Aman AlUla in Saudi Arabia, and Aman Dubai and Janu Dubai in the UAE. The brand also recently unveiled Amangati—a 183-metre luxury motor yacht in partnership with Cruise Saudi, marking Aman’s bold entry into luxury maritime tourism.
