Saudi Arabia officially secures position as host nation for Expo 2030
Saudi Arabia has officially secured its position as the host nation for Expo 2030 Riyadh, following the final approval of its registration dossier by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) during its General Assembly in Paris.
This final endorsement marks the last
formal milestone in the selection process, cementing Riyadh’s status as the
next World Expo host.
In a symbolic ceremony, the World
Expo flag was handed over to the Saudi delegation, led by Engineer Ibrahim
Al-Sultan, Minister of State and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh
City (RCRC), accompanied by Ambassador Fahd bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaili and other
senior officials.

“The approval of our dossier in
record time reflects the world’s growing confidence in Saudi Arabia’s vision,
leadership, and execution,” Al-Sultan stated. “It also demonstrates the
professionalism and dedication of the teams behind this achievement.”
A
Visionary Expo on the Horizon
The registration dossier, now
officially approved, serves as a comprehensive blueprint for the expo. It
details Saudi Arabia’s commitment to creating a global stage for innovation,
sustainability, and international collaboration.
Remarkably, Riyadh became the first
Expo host to complete and submit its dossier in nearly half the standard
timeframe, according to the RCRC.
With approval in place, the next
steps include the formal invitation of participating nations, which will be
extended through diplomatic channels.
