Riyadh Expo 2030 to
offer distinctive features
Saudi Arabia unveiled
a glimpse of the proposed Riyadh Expo 2030 site recently, offering a preview of
what could be the hosting ground for the world fair if the Kingdom secures the
winning bid. Set to run from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, the event will
revolve around the theme "The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted
Tomorrow."
The proposed site
covers an impressive seven square kilometers and will feature a "Loop of
the World" avenue, connecting pavilions from more than 220 countries. In a
promotional video titled 'Riyadh is ready,' shared on Twitter, Saudi Arabia showcased
the city-wide view of Riyadh, highlighting the nation's transformation into a
modern metropolis. Sustainability emerges as a key theme for Expo 2030,
aligning with Saudi Arabia's commitment to eco-friendly practices.
The video emphasized
that Saudi Arabia aims to create the "most connected Expo ever," with
Riyadh Air serving as the airline partner to facilitate global connectivity.
Visitors can quickly access the exhibition site, which will be located near
King Salman International Airport, currently under development. The Riyadh
Metro network will also provide seamless transportation, allowing visitors to
easily reach the exhibition site from any part of the city.
The host for Expo 2030
will be determined in November, with contenders including Busan, South Korea,
Rome, and Odessa in Ukraine. The blueprint for Riyadh Expo 2030, revealed
during an official reception in Paris, underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to
carbon neutrality and adherence to international sustainability standards. The
event will feature approximately 226 pavilions, representing various countries
side by side, promoting global cooperation and fostering a future full of
potential.
Saudi Arabia envisions
an Expo that emphasizes flexibility, interactivity, collaboration, and
sustainability. With shaded corridors inspired by Riyadh's architectural
heritage, a modern green oasis, and innovative spaces like the Collaborative
Change Corner (C3), the exhibition aims to provide an exceptional and
high-quality experience for over 40 million visitors.
Ultimately, the Riyadh
Expo 2030 will serve as a platform for showcasing innovations that will shape
our collective future, highlighting Saudi Arabia's shared concerns with the
world and its ambition to foster positive change.
