Chinese logistics company JD officially launches operations in Saudi Arabia  

Chinese logistics leader JD Logistics has officially launched operations in Saudi Arabia, establishing its first Middle East hub with an 8,000-square-metre smart warehouse in Riyadh. The move marks a significant step in the company’s global expansion and underscores growing foreign investment in the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030.

The new regional headquarters was made possible following licensing approvals from the Saudi Economic Business Center. JD Logistics chose Riyadh for its strategic location and pro-business environment, aligning with the Kingdom’s broader efforts to attract international investment and deepen private-sector partnerships.

The company’s entry into the Saudi market follows extensive collaboration with the E-Commerce Council and other government entities. At the launch event, JD Logistics Vice President Wang Ying confirmed that the company will offer services across most regions of the Kingdom.

JD Logistics will deliver a full suite of logistics solutions including last-mile delivery, same-day shipping, and cash-on-delivery options. These services will be supported by a nationwide network of warehouses, sorting centers, and delivery stations, positioning the company to efficiently meet the needs of both businesses and consumers.

The Riyadh smart warehouse—the firm’s first in the Middle East—highlights JD Logistics’ commitment to serving the growing demand for e-commerce solutions in the region. Saudi Arabia, ranked among the top 10 fastest-growing e-commerce markets globally, is a key target in the company's international growth strategy.

This launch comes amid a wave of international firms establishing operations in Saudi Arabia, drawn by the economic diversification goals of Vision 2030.
