As part of ongoing efforts to protect and restore native wildlife, the National Center for Wildlife (NCW), in partnership with NEOM, released 134 endangered species into the NEOM Nature Reserve on Tuesday. The release included 100 Arabian oryxes, 20 Arabian gazelles, eight Nubian ibexes, and six Idmi gazelles, contributing to the enrichment of biodiversity and the restoration of natural ecosystems in Saudi Arabia.

This initiative is part of broader breeding and rewilding programs aimed at reintroducing endangered species to their natural habitats. The NEOM Nature Reserve now hosts these species, enhancing ongoing conservation efforts and reinforcing ecological balance in the Kingdom’s reserves.

Dr. Mohammed Ali Qurban, CEO of the National Center for Wildlife, highlighted that the release is a continuation of NCW’s efforts across various nature reserves in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, noting that this partnership with NEOM reflects the commitment to integrating expertise and resources within the wildlife sector.
