First Flynas flight arrives at Red Sea International Airport from Dammam

Red Sea Global (RSG), the visionary developer behind one of the world's most ambitious regenerative tourism projects, celebrated the arrival of the inaugural Flynas flight from Dammam's King Fahd International Airport to Red Sea International Airport (RSI). This marks the first direct connection between Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and the breathtaking Red Sea destination.

The new route, with flights operating twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays, enhances access to The Red Sea destination and its surrounding areas. Alongside existing services from Riyadh and Jeddah, the addition strengthens RSI’s connectivity within the Kingdom.

Strategic Positioning and Connectivity

Located strategically, RSI serves as a gateway within a three-hour flight for 250 million people and an eight-hour flight for 85% of the global population. Since September 2023, RSI has welcomed guests to five world-class resorts, with Saudia operating regular domestic flights. In 2024, RSI achieved another milestone, receiving its first international flight from Dubai International Airport via flydubai, underscoring its critical role as a hub for travelers.

Commitment to Sustainability

RSI is a trailblazer in renewable energy innovation. Once fully operational, the airport will rely entirely on renewable energy sourced from its vast solar farms, featuring 760,500 photovoltaic panels and one of the largest off-grid Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the world.

Currently, all airside operations, including Airfield Ground Lighting, the Instrument Landing System, and other essential infrastructure, are already powered by renewable energy. This accomplishment underscores RSI's dedication to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
