Neom launched its Neom Investment Fund in October 2023, which has since made five significant investments, including a $100 million investment in Pony.ai, a U.S. company specializing in autonomous vehicles.

In January 2024, the Saudi government unveiled its national biotechnology strategy, which Neom will play a key role in executing. This strategy aims to position Saudi Arabia as a biotech leader in the MENA region by 2030, focusing on sectors such as vaccines, bio-manufacturing, genomics, and plant optimization.
