Sascha Berger joins Neom as Biotech Investment Director
Sascha Berger has been appointed as Director of Biotech Investments for Neom, the Saudi state-run company overseeing the development of a futuristic city in the country’s northwest. In his new role, Berger will lead the biotech investment efforts, contributing to Saudi Arabia's broader ambition to become a global hub for biotechnology.
Berger comes from TVM Capital Life
Science, a German venture capital firm, where he spent eight years, starting as
an investment principal in 2016 and advancing to general partner in 2021.
During his tenure, he led investments in the biotech and medtech sectors.

Neom launched its Neom Investment
Fund in October 2023, which has since made five significant investments,
including a $100 million investment in Pony.ai, a U.S. company specializing in
autonomous vehicles.
In January 2024, the Saudi
government unveiled its national biotechnology strategy, which Neom will play a
key role in executing. This strategy aims to position Saudi Arabia as a biotech
leader in the MENA region by 2030, focusing on sectors such as vaccines,
bio-manufacturing, genomics, and plant optimization.
